Every number, explained.
Plain English explanations for every metric QuantiGolf tracks. No jargon without context.
Distance
Impact
Ball Speed
mphSpeed of ball off the club face. Determined by club speed and smash factor.
Smash Factor
How efficiently energy transfers from club to ball. Ball speed divided by club speed.
Dynamic Loft
°Actual loft at impact, which differs from static club loft due to shaft lean and angle of attack.
Spin Loft
°Angle between club face direction and club path. Primary driver of spin rate.
Ball_flight
Launch Angle
°Vertical angle of ball flight at launch. Determines trajectory height and carry optimization.
Peak Height
ftMaximum height of ball flight. Higher means more stopping power, lower means more wind resistant.
Descent Angle
°Angle at which the ball descends. Steeper means more stopping power on the green.
Horizontal Launch
°Left/right launch direction. 0 is straight at target. Negative is left, positive is right.
Lateral Distance
ydHow far offline the ball landed. Closer to 0 means straighter shots.
Carry Curve
ydHow much the ball curved during flight. Less curve means more predictable.
Spin
Club
Club Speed
mphClub head speed at impact. Primary determinant of distance potential.
Attack Angle
°Vertical angle of club head at impact. Negative means hitting down, positive means hitting up.
Club Path
°Horizontal direction of club head movement. Positive is in-to-out, negative is out-to-in.
Face Angle
°Club face angle at impact relative to target line. Affects initial ball direction.
Face Target
°Face angle relative to intended target. Similar to face angle but target-referenced.
Derived
Confidence Carry
ydThe distance you can carry at least 90% of the time. Your most reliable planning number.
Carry Floor (P20)
ydThe 20th percentile of your carry distances. Your worst clean strike still goes this far.
Carry Average
ydYour average carry distance with mishits removed. The number most golfers think of as their distance...
Carry Strong (P80)
ydThe 80th percentile of your carry. Your strong shots go this far — useful for downwind or downhill t...
Hero Carry
ydYour longest carries — the ones that make you feel great. Do not plan around this number.
Composite Strike Score
/100Weighted aggregate of strike quality metrics. Higher is better. Requires at least 5 shots.
Smash Stability
/100How consistent your energy transfer is from swing to swing. Higher means more reliable contact.
Carry Consistency
/100How tightly grouped your carry distances are. Higher means more predictable yardages.
Directional Consistency
/100How straight your shots are. Higher means less dispersion left and right.
Club Summary: Clean & Consistent
Clean and consistent contact
Club Summary: Consistent
Highly consistent — tight spread
Club Summary: Accurate
Very accurate direction
Needs Work: Mishit Rate
High mishit rate (%s%%) — work on contact quality
Needs Work: Variance
High variance (σ=%s yd) — inconsistent contact
Needs Work: Directional Bias
Significant %s bias (%s yd average)
Needs Work: Limited Data
Limited data — hit more shots for reliable stats
