Smash Factor
ImpactHow efficiently energy transfers from club to ball. Ball speed divided by club speed.
Why it matters
Smash factor is the purest measure of strike quality — it isolates contact efficiency from raw speed. Improving smash from 1.42 to 1.48 on a 100 mph swing adds 6 mph of ball speed, which is roughly 12 yards of carry for free.
How to improve
Use impact tape or foot spray to identify your miss pattern on the face, then adjust ball position and setup to center the strike.
