Spin loft is the master variable behind spin rate. Understanding it explains why your driver spins too much (spin loft too high) or your wedges don't check (spin loft too low).
How to improve
Reduce driver spin loft by hitting up on the ball with less dynamic loft; increase iron spin loft with a steeper descending blow and proper shaft lean.
