Spin Rate

Spin rpm

Ball spin after impact. Controls trajectory and stopping power. Too high means ballooning.

Why it matters

Spin rate controls both trajectory shape and stopping power. Too much driver spin costs carry distance; too little wedge spin means the ball releases through the green.

How to improve

To reduce driver spin, hit up on the ball with less dynamic loft; to increase wedge spin, ensure clean grooves, a quality urethane ball, and consistent ball-first contact.
